“Okay… what should I be offering?” The answer will depend on your clients — and your photographic genre . Each genre requires different presentation. For example, a wedding photographer, with potential sales of hundreds of images, will require completely different products from a landscape specialist offering images intended for wall display. Bear in mind too that the most appropriate printing isn't just a personal preference but will depend on the products you want to offer. For example, we recommend silver halide over inkjet for applications where To View More >>

As a photographer, your creativity is your super-power. It’s what sets you apart, what draws clients to you, and what fills your work with meaning. But when your days are spent juggling inboxes, invoices, timelines, edits, orders, banking, and endless other to-dos, it’s easy for that creative spark to fizzle out. Here’s the truth: you don’t need less structure to be more creative — you need better systems. We've made changes to the Workspace Client Gallery setting "Viewers must register" after some great feedback in our Facebook group, The Insider. Until now if you turned on the "Viewers must register" gallery setting, visitors had to create an "account" before they could view a gallery. The setting was optional, and its purpose was to track who was viewing your galleries and to collect their email addresses. This change will make it easier for people to get access while still allowing you to collect those addresses. Here's what we have done We've replaced the original setting with "Require Email To View More >>

This is the first of a series of articles about enhancing data privacy and controls in Workspace, especially in relation to GDPR. Our online galleries in Workspace may ask your clients to register for three reasons: when you've opted to require visitors to log in or register before they can view a gallery; when they select their favourite images in a gallery; or when they make a purchase in the shopping cart. Why the data is collected: Visitor names and emails may be required to fulfil shopping cart transactions, so you can use their favourites in possible future To View More >>

Sonja Gardien's Studio 541 has taken on the Auckland art scene, showcasing both emerging and established photographers. We took some time out to chat about what it takes to run a gallery space, and what photographers need to know before they submit their work. Sonja wanted to create a space for photographers to exhibit, learn, meet and be inspired. “It’s important to identify a niche," she says. "There are a lot of galleries around. You need to be different. It seemed logical to utilise Studio 541, not only for a gallery, but also as a space to attend workshops and To View More >>

We’ve introduced a new way for your clients to order a Q-Box. As a photographer you can order wholesale, provided you have an approved account. These notes are to help you sell Q-Boxes in your own shopping cart, at your own prices. Step 1 - Favourite the images: In your client's gallery, they can click the Workspace Heart to select the images they wish to include in their Q-Box. (For more on how to favourite images, click here.) And not to worry, they can add / remove / edit images later, in the shopping cart, if they change their minds. Step 2 - Go to Favourites: To View More >>
