“Art is the most intense mode of individualism that the world has known.” – Oscar Wilde In this series we shine a light on artists expressing their individuality, documenting what they love, working hard on their craft, and sharing it with the world. We took a deep dive into Auckland-based landscape and automotive photographer, Josh Hilliam’s mind to discuss his process of chasing down the wild coastline. How did you get started in photography? For me, photography started with playing around with a GoPro and a building obsession for aesthetic looking photos. It became a To View More >>

We're big animal lovers at Queensberry! Portrait Albums are perfect for pet and portrait photography, or even a mixture of the two.  We saw Kelly Wolfe's album as it went through the bindery, and thought you might like to see it too! Kelly has recently returned to photography and is based in North Waikato, New Zealand.  Kelly talks about the importance of having product samples. "It helps inspire ideas when we are planning a portrait session together, and also helps them start thinking about what products might best suit their own space and personal tastes – whether To View More >>

It's easy for us to never think about the galaxy we're part of. Even Star Wars is about galaxies far, far away! But Paul Wison says that when you're away from the city, and your urban life, you see things in a very different light — literally. "You see stars like never before – whole galaxies gleaming in the distance, and suddenly you experience a combination of feeling both very insignificant, and incredibly lucky to be standing, frozen in time, staring into the distance and admiring a view that has taken aeons to conspire." Paul is a New Zealand wedding and astrophotographer To View More >>

Written by: Koby & Terilyn Brown – Archetype Studio Our boudoir line is called J’adore, which means ‘to adore’ in French. Brides book a J’adore shoot to create an amazing, intimate gift to give their groom on the wedding day. Imagine the groom receiving this album on the wedding day… Can’t you see the grin spread across his face when he opens this very special book? I’m pretty sure most grooms agree that this really is an amazing gift. Koby says it’s so much more than the bride even realizes. But there is another reason that a bride books To View More >>

WPPI 2014 was an exciting time for Queensberry, not least because it was there that Sonya and I first met Gregory Georges. Greg is an award-winning master photographer, and the bestselling author of ten books on digital photography and image editing. He's featured in The New York Times Magazine, Sports Illustrated and many other magazines. Greg spent several years in software marketing and sales, including five years in England. Last weekend we had the pleasure of sending Michelle along as a Queensberry representative to Kate Robinson's 'Planted With Light' photography workshop and seminar. We had a taster range of albums, books and lab products on display and Michelle happily chatted with the attendees throughout the day. Kate's workshop was meticulously planned and delivered. At the start, Kate said that she would be open and sharing with her business and photography knowledge.  She was true to her word! Topics covered included marketing, planning, preparing and managing a wedding shoot, paperwork and administration, To View More >>

What if you could make a bride-to-be's site a core part of her event planning? In my last post I explained how you could publish a Workspace client website in just a few minutes, but you can add far more impact with some optional extras that take just a few minutes more... Imagine it's months before the wedding and you've done an engagement shoot. You upload the images and create a new site for the couple as I described last time, but with two optional features added: 1. An event details page, with the wedding date, location and other details. 2. A gift registry. Imagine! Instead of buying the To View More >>

If you're flying in to shoot a wedding and the weather's so foul the plane mightn't be able to land, you have every wedding photographer's nightmare. And to say the weather was foul would be an understatement... But the plane did land and Johannes (of Moda Fotografica) had already covered the other bases before heading out to shoot Vicky and Ricky's wedding at French Farm in the South Island of New Zealand. With heavy rain forecast and weather warnings in place, Johannes discussed with the couple what would happen if the weather didn't play nice. He walked them through how it might effect what To View More >>
