Do you know Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds? — I'm showing my age here! Nick's strange baritone singing voice is definitely an acquired taste and I stayed away until I saw him as one of a bunch of big names singing Leonard Cohen songs at a Sydney tribute show. And then I came across the Red Hand Files. When they show up in my feed I stop scrolling and read, and his latest post made me think of photographers, and what you do. What we do too. Nick invites his fans to ask him questions, and every week or so he picks one to answer. He takes this very seriously. This week someone To View More >>

Better emails for everyone! Most of us take great care over our “marketing”, like newsletters, special offers, advertising etc, but in a way what tells people the most about us are the little day to day interactions that we barely think about. Like our answerphone messages or our auto-reply email! Workspace sends out lots of automated emails — for example when you share galleries with your clients, when clients receive their digital downloads, or when they purchase products in your shopping cart. They’re a reflection of you — and us — and we want them to look To View More >>

If you build your business on In-Person Sales, you have a huge advantage over competitors who can't — or won't — do the same. Online is great to get your name out there, great to sell prints to friends and family, fantastic for high volume, low price print sales … but, for high-end sales, getting face-to-face with your clients, in your studio, is best. In future posts, we'll talk more about sales strategies. This post is just about the benefits of buying Studio Boxes in bulk, by which we mean carrying your own stock of mats and boxes in To View More >>

Quality and presentation matter The fact we've worked hard to make Photo Books more affordable doesn't mean they're lower quality. In the past, Queensberry's online designer has never had a cover proofing function and we’re excited to announce that you can now proof plain, embossed, photo front and wrap-around covers. You will be able to see a preview in the designer, where you can adjust photos, change the embossing text and see what the cover will look like with your album. Your clients too will be able to see the cover using Queensberry’s fully integrated album proofing. We will be releasing cover motifs, designable and custom canvas covers in the New Year. To see how it works watch the short video below. Thanks, To View More >>

The Queensberry online album designer is a great on the go resource that makes designing albums quick and easy. You can share your design with your clients for proofing, or share a slideshow of the finished design by email or on social media. Here's how to upload a song to Workspace, attach it to your album slideshows, and share them just like you share your image galleries. 1. Upload your chosen song In Workspace’s main navigation click “Settings” then "Appearance". Go to the Music tab to upload your music track. Please ensure you have the rights to use it before To View More >>

Did you know that you can sell anything from loose prints to canvases in your shopping cart? Without lifting a finger? Ok... maybe not quite that simple but pretty close. If you think you don't have time, read on! There are very few steps once you've got your website set up. Upload the images, attach a price list and sell products from your website directly to your clients. If your client views their gallery on their computer, shopping cart, favourite and sharing icons appear over the images when you hover over them (see screenshot above). They simply click on the shopping cart To View More >>

You've sent your album design to your client for proofing, now what? Using a proofing system could be a little daunting if you've never done it before, so we've created a tutorial specifically for your clients to follow so that you can get their feedback and order the album. We've even made it so when your client opens up their album design, the tutorial will appear in front of them so there's no need to do anything. Do you have any feedback? We regularly update album proofing to make it work better for you. Contact us if you have any comments or suggestions. Victoria To View More >>

Photographer Amanda King from ‘By the Horns’ lives on a sheep and beef farm in rural Canterbury, New Zealand. Her career took a turn after she took a photo of a "big hairy cow" to display in her living room. Her friends loved her 40x30 print and requested copies for themselves. She sensed an opportunity, and within nine weeks had built up a 16,000 following on Facebook. We asked Amanda about her new business venture, what inspires her about rural animals and a bit about the way she chooses to display her work. Amanda had been a school teacher for about To View More >>
