Value Imagine if you said, “I want you to pay me what you think I’m worth.” Most people would imagine themselves out of business. We need to tell our clients what we’re worth, and live up to our rhetoric. What is the value of your work to people who don’t know you, or how much they should be paying? The value of a compelling and authentic brand is that it tells people the price of entry and helps them see it’s worth To View More >>
Previous | Contents | Next Download the eBook There’s no room in this business for cynics. Ambassadors of Love Sure you love photography … but then this whole business is about love. Love and other emotional drivers — like the desire for connection, significance, family pride, and the human need to remember and be remembered. My Dad wanted a photo of my mother to fit in the breast pocket of his battle tunic in North Africa. Eighty years later I still have it. They married after the war. We have a few formal group photos. All us kids can do is try and judge what To View More >>

Tessa Williams from Moemoea Collective is a family portrait photographer based in Upper Hutt, Wellington, New Zealand. "Whanau is my first priority in life, so I love to photograph others who feel the same. My style is contemporary, relationship-focused imagery filled with lots of life, and I want my client experience to leave you feeling celebrated, valued and with great pride in sharing your story with your loved ones. "I will be exhibiting my first collection of original artwork celebrating the connection between wahine hapu (pregnant women) and Papatuanuku (our earth mother), embracing To View More >>

Following on from 'Tribe', an exhibition by Tania Niwa (sponsored by Queensberry) in 2017, this album was made for a family who had suffered a tragedy. Tania and Mary Raukawa Newton share how these photographs connect families and cultures. "These fine art images are from a family portrait commission I have been working on," Tania says. "They feature in a custom-made leather album for widower Mary Raukawa Newton and her little boy Leighton. "Mary lost her fiancé Alekh when Leighton was a few weeks old. Her fiancé was of Nepalese heritage. To View More >>

After coming across Paul and Puyan’s wedding, we knew we had to chat with the photographer behind their beautiful photographs. Documenting love stories both in France and abroad, Jérémy Boyer has only been in the wedding industry for around four years, and says he's been taking it seriously for the past two! But with his clear vision and creative outlook he's already well recognised for his work. We discussed all things weddings, from mixed cultures and traditions, to the clients you attract, and of course Puyan's one-of-a-kind dress, made by herself. To View More >>

There is nothing quite like a genuine smile or quiet, candid moment. We caught up with Laura from Siida Photography to talk about authenticity and connection in her work. "I was born in Finland but we emigrated to Australia when I was a young child. I have a strong connection to the motherland, but I also feel very Aussie. I think my style of photography has elements of both places within it. A strong connection to nature through my Finnish roots, and a sense of fun from my time in Australia. "Photography is so important for our memories of the precious people and times in our lives. I To View More >>

These portrait shots of Georgia are so elegant and sophisticated, yet fun and playful at the same time. Georgia looks beautiful - and what a great idea to have a 'Quintessential Teenage Shoot' to celebrate her 14th birthday! Serena Bolton photographed Georgia, starting at Holland Park and ending in Serena's studio in London, UK. Check out Georgia's Duo album, with copy album to match, designed by the Queensberry Design team. As part of Georgia's birthday celebrations, her mother took her to Top Shop for a personalised shopping experience. She bought a variety To View More >>
I watched this amazing Youtube video on my iPad yesterday. An awe inspiring piece of street theatre. It got me thinking how our lives are lived more and more in two dimensions … on our “devices”. We can, and do, connect virtually with almost anything, anywhere, any time. In fact Ian discovered this event reading a (gasp) book, and googling it. But I wish I’d really been there. That's the point of street theatre, right? Imagine being there on the streets of London - closed to traffic to make way for a five-story elephant, a giant girl and a huge happy crowd. Set in Vancouver Canada, Tara and Ian opted for a beautiful Garden wedding. They wed under a large maple tree near the ocean on a breezy June day. I adore everything about this 14x10 Duo album; the ultra-soft colour palette, the beautiful selection of black and white images and the lovely photographs captured by Melia from Lucida Photography. A translucent title is a lovely start to any album. I am in love with this venue! The Brock House Restaurant is where the ceremony and reception took place. The combination of the charming old house and the ocean views fit Tara To View More >>
