He was a wedding photographer whose goal was to clear “100k in 100 Days” from 30 weddings. (The actual figures don’t matter — they just sound snappy — so I’m not going to tell you when, where or in what currency.) Many a photographer has built a profitable business out of shooting 30 or 40 weddings a year, bur Craig’s To View More >>

A few weeks ago we gave you a sneak peek at a major upgrade to our Client Galleries, designed to make it easier than ever for wedding and portrait photographers to sell print products to their clients. It' s based on what we've learned from the success of Print Shop, our other online sales platform. We're delighted to announce that it's now live, and accessible on all paid Workspace plans. Here we'll step you through the main features, but first, we're often asked —  why do we offer two platforms? Because the customers are totally different, and so To View More >>

“Art is the most intense mode of individualism that the world has known.” – Oscar Wilde In this series we shine a light on artists expressing their individuality, documenting what they love, working hard on their craft, and sharing it with the world. We spoke to Auckland-based Marie Valencia about what makes her art, self described as dreamy and curated, special to her. So, How did you get started in photography? It sort of naturally progressed — I studied and did all kinds of art when I was younger, eventually ending up as a photographer and graphic designer. My travels To View More >>

We’re introducing one of the biggest changes to our book and album line-up in years. Today’s email is to tell you all about it. Our next will be to celebrate with two special offers! For years we’ve offered “free” services with all our albums — free colour correction, free album design, free personal titles, cover motifs and so on. Then, last year, we began experimenting with “unbundling” those services. In other words setting prices for “just the album”, with extra charges for the services if you wanted them. That’s proved so popular To View More >>

Categories are a great way to divide images in a Gallery into separate sub-groups. For a wedding, for example, you might have categories called Getting Ready, Ceremony, Reception and so on. That means your clients can jump to the Ceremony images, for example, without having to scroll through hundreds of other photos. You can now upload directly into Categories using the Workspace uploader. Here’s how to create a new Category, and upload directly into a Category using the Workspace uploader. 1. The presentation boxes our albums come in don’t even bear our name, but to us, and our customers, they're a key part of our identity, and express the quality and classic design we stand for. Like Tiffany’s Blue Boxes … but maybe not quite as famous! Our boxes must be intensely practical too, and work across a huge variety of sizes, colours and cover materials. So when we redesigned them in 2016 we didn't throw out the old ones, we refreshed and upgraded them — with more silkscreen passes, new colours and matching grey To View More >>

Some Workspace users have more than one account (separate brands for their wedding and portrait businesses, for example). Some busy studios have several people working in the same Workspace account (photographers, designers, sales people, for example). And some users do work for the owners of multiple Workspace accounts (album designers, editors, site managers, for example). In all those scenarios the Workspace Accounts and Users function makes life very easy. Save 40% on your annual Workspace subscription. Just quote WS40 when subscribing or updating. To View More >>

Your blog  is a great way to share your work and connect with potential new clients. It's a tool for drawing people in from Facebook and other social media sites, for keeping your site fresh, interesting and ever-changing, and for keeping your image galleries and work in front of people. Travel photographer Lola is a Kiwi born and bred, and her work inspires the adventurer in all of us. She has a bubbly and life-affirming attitude that shines through her photography, and motivates us to get out and explore. We’ve partnered with Lola in her photography exhibition, Aqua Frizzante. Driven by the calmness and solitude the ocean can bring, she focuses on movement and textures as she floats alone, with a more abstract approach than we’re used to. We can’t wait to see what she’s installed. Details below.  Lola got into photography at a pretty young age, To View More >>
