It's that time of year again! Time to spend with family and friends, take stock of the year been, and look forward to the year ahead. With that in mind, you'll be wanting to know how to ensure your clients receive their albums by December. To keep stress levels low, we recommend sticking to the timeline outlined below. So here goes... We close at 3.30pm on Friday 22nd December 2017. We re-open at 8am Monday 8th January 2018. We're opening earlier than usual in 2018 to allow enough time for sample orders for February trade shows. Using our free album design service? We'll need To View More >>

Pagemount vs Overlay We offer a few types of matted album — Overlay Matted, Duo and Musée —and one of the important differences between them is whether the prints are mounted Overlay or Pagemount style. So what's the difference? Overlay: Industry-wide, almost all matted albums are overlay mounted, so overlays may not be new to you. Details may vary from manufacturer to manufacturer, but the photographs are attached behind the mat, which covers and conceals the edge of the prints. You can see this clearly in the first photograph. To View More >>

There's a huge amount of power in Workspace. We know, we use it all, and we love it! Queensberry’s website is built on Workspace. We blog in Workspace. We sell in Workspace. And we design albums in Workspace, and Photojunction — half the albums we make, in fact, all part of our free album design service. But not everyone wants to use our software to design Flushmount albums and Q-Books … not when they're already up and running with cool alternatives like Fundy, SmartAlbums, or Adobe's InDesign and Photoshop. It’s hard to believe how time flies … Before you know it we’ll be gearing up for that crazy fun-filled time we call Christmas. A time for holidays … and family … and at Queensberry, for getting those precious photographs into albums for everyone to share over the holidays! It’s also time to think about getting your sample albums ready for the January shows. Which means that, for your peace of mind, and to allow us time to handcraft your order, it’s time to remind you of our holiday cut-off dates, so you’ll be sure to receive your albums and books To View More >>

We designed, printed and bound a number of special edition Q-Books for AIBP (Association of International Boudoir Photographers). The books feature a collection of beautiful photographs that were part of the “2014 Best of AIBP Image Competition”. (We were 'oohing' and 'ahhing' throughout the entire product shoot). AIBP seeks to unite professional boudoir photographers globally, to share in common interests from the beauty, art, technique and business aspects of the industry. AIBP has members on six continents, and believes in recognizing amazing talent, which To View More >>

Here's a handy tip if you're using our free design service. Please hit the SEND button, or we won't get your feedback. (SAVE adds them to the database but doesn't pass them to us.) You'll find the button at the bottom right of the screen, as in the graphic. We normally have design edits done within 24 hours, so if you don't hear from us promptly, take a look in Workspace to double check that you sent the comments. By the way the same applies to feedback from your clients. If you haven't heard from them, ask them to check that they've hit the Send Feedback button, To View More >>

WPPI 2014 was an exciting time for Queensberry, not least because it was there that Sonya and I first met Gregory Georges. Greg is an award-winning master photographer, and the bestselling author of ten books on digital photography and image editing. He's featured in The New York Times Magazine, Sports Illustrated and many other magazines. Greg spent several years in software marketing and sales, including five years in England. He has a B.S. degree in business, double majoring in marketing and management. For the last few years he's been in partnership with Jonathon Penney, master print maker To View More >>

At Queensberry we say our ideal clients are mid to high end photographers, and those who aspire to be. Oh, and we love it if you buy albums! So in our recent album pricing survey one of the questions we asked readers was, how many albums do you sell? Over half our respondents said less than ten a year. Ten albums a year doesn't seem a lot, so does that mean the world is ending for albums and the people who sell them? Not at all. Nothing's changed. Albums have always been a way of standing out from the crowd and up-selling. In the old days most photographers sold the negatives or a stack of prints. To View More >>
A while ago I suggested "keeping it simple" was a great goal ... but not simple to achieve in a complicated job like photography. But I did suggest you could do it with Queensberry. Take our Design Service. There are benefits to doing your own album design, so what I'm about to say isn't going to work for everyone. But if you're snowed under or uncomfortable with album design it's worth serious thought. Say on average you spend 3-4 hours on each album design ... and many people do spend a lot more. Send them to Queensberry and you've just freed up at least a day. You can bet that at this time of To View More >>
