Someone asked the other day why some photographers using Print Shop seem to be selling their prints “quite cheaply”. "I can understand that there is potentially volume in art prints that isn't there with portraits. But I still wonder how a client might feel if the price is significantly lower for an art print." I think there are a few questions here — does the difference in price matter? Are people undercharging? — and anyway, how much should you charge? I'll leave the last one for later, but meantime… 1. Why might you need to charge differently for your art versus To View More >>

We've made some much-requested changes to our Q Book range: • We've added two extra sizes, A4 and A3. A3 and A4 are standard paper sizes in much of the world, but for those who aren't familiar they equate to approximately* 12x8" and 16x12" respectively (30x21 and 42x30cm). • You can now order both Q Book Lights and Mediums in the large A3 and 15x12 sizes. Although they are fairly similar we will run both sizes side by side for the time being. Designing Q Books The new A4 and A3 books do look great, and they're easy to design with the Workspace Album To View More >>

A few clients have told us that they prefer to export their own printing files (page layouts) in Photojunction, but the "Export" button seems to have disappeared. So what have we done with it? Whether the Export button appears or not is dependent on whether you or we (Queensberry) are to do the exporting, and that depends on the option you choose in the Service dropdown menu during album set up. Looking at the screenshot, if you choose Print and Assemble you'll need to do the export - ie create the PSD layouts and, if need be, edit the files before you upload them to us. If you chose Export, Print To View More >>

Last year we introduced The Queensberry Press, our first toe-dip into the brave new world of digital offset-printing. Everyone, from our designers to our developers immediately started working hard on v2.0 - starting with a hard look at what you had to say about the first release! So here's what's in The Queensberry Press v2.0. It starts with a really good introductory deal. Order any Queensberry Press book before Friday 20th May 2011 and you'll pay half price. Our discount on all "value packages" also increases from the normal 40% to 50% for the same period (as listed in Photojunction). We've To View More >>

Forums are about community... Sharing ideas, asking questions, providing feedback. We've just integrated our forums with our Queensberry and Photojunction Facebook pages to harness the power of one of the largest online communities in the world. On both pages, if you want to ask a question go to the 'Discussions' tab (highlighted in the graphic). If you want to offer feedback (or give someone else's idea a boost) go to the 'Feedback' tab. As well as these we're starting work on building a more user-friendly knowledge base. Look forward to hanging out with you more on Facebook :) Cheers, Nigel To View More >>

Last night we removed the data limits on our Workspace Pro Plus plan and took some of the restrictions off our Free Plan. We've had a lot of requests for this, so here's the deal… 1. Under the Workspace Pro+ Plan, data storage is now unlimited. 2. The Workspace Free Plan now offers 750MB of storage, but access is no longer restricted, and you can use it indefinitely. We do reserve the right to cancel inactive accounts (where there have been no new uploads or sales for twelve months). Please read the details on our website. So why the change of mind? One thing concerned us when we launched Workspace. To View More >>

We have noticed that some areas of Photojunction are experiencing speed issues with the new Mountain Lion (Mac OSX 10.8) upgrade. We have located a design issue where opening images in the layout tab is slow to load. We are currently working to adjust the program with new installers to fix this problem. If you come across any further problems of this nature please email us at info@queensberry.com and let us know. We will let you know when this issue is resolved. Edit: This issue has now been resolved. Thank you for your patience. Cheers, Amanda To View More >>

In part this post is for the locals - us Kiwis and the Aussies from across the ditch. There's more below for those of you currently enjoying Summer… If you love Queensberry's album printing, why use another lab for everything else? We believe in consistency across the board. The same lovely people will do your colour correcting and printing. Depending on what you order, everything will be printed on the same machines. Turn around times are short and you will be talking to the same customer service team. We offer a range of traditional silver halide prints, canvas and fine art inkjet printing, To View More >>

I've talked about Photojunction and Workspace. Now may I introduce you to Queensberry Lab Direct. This downloadable program is for Aussie and Kiwi photographers to order print products (traditional prints, canvases and fine art inkjet) from us. The difference between Lab Direct and the Workspace shopping cart system is that with Lab Direct, you are placing a wholesale order and paying for it yourself, whereas in Workspace it's your client placing the order, and paying the retail price that you set. Lab Direct very simple. All you need to do is to import the images, much the same as you do with To View More >>

Improved image uploading is probably the biggest deal in this release of Queensberry Workspace, but have a play and judge for yourself. It’s free to try! Uploading Workspace now has six image uploaders for you to choose from – two web-based and four desktop uploaders. Pick one to suit your workflow. The upload window shows them all, including the links and instructions you'll need to use them. You can upload to existing events and collections or create new ones on the fly. One of the web uploaders is slower than the other, but more robust if your internet connection isn't the best. You can To View More >>
