Updated December 13. We think four words describe Studio Albums — simple, affordable, contemporary, speedy! They've generated a lot of excitement, and had us thinking hard, s o here’s what we mean by Studio Albums, and where we’re going with the range. Watch out for introductory offers, coming soon. Contemporary Don’t get us wrong, we love the grandeur of a large album — but there’s no denying the appeal of smaller sizes. With Studio Albums we’re embracing the trend with two new size, 9x9 and the gorgeous 12x9, our new favourite. To View More >>

What is "aspect ratio", and why can it be a problem? The aspect ratio of an image is the ratio of its width to its height. Unless the aspect ratio of a print or frame matches that of the camera image from which it is made, the original image will need to be cropped. What to do When shooting, bear in mind the finished print that you want to sell. If you frame the subject tightly (with important content out to the edges of the image) you won't be able to crop — you'll need to order prints with the same aspect ratio as the camera. Since most digital camerals have an To View More >>

As a social photographer, it's so easy to get caught up working for clients and watching our bottom line that creative inspiration can become just another item on our To Do list. So how can we stay inspired, and so do our best work for clients, without getting burned out? How can we fill our 'creative well' regularly?' as Julia Cameron from The Artist's Way would ask. There is a way and it's called Instagram. As long as you can get online, inspiration can be yours in a non-stop stream of talent and buzzing creativity. When Instagram first arrived, it was known for its over-processed To View More >>

A beautiful story behind a beautiful album. Thank you Andrew Donnan for sharing this story about your grandmother with us. "My grandmother raised me from birth. She put off marriage whilst raising me, so when I found out that she was getting married to Jerry, I politely yet firmly let her know that I had to photograph their ceremony. Ruth and Jerry wanted to keep the ceremony low key, so there were only five of us present. My wife (girlfriend at the time) was there with me, so bearing witness to their ceremony was all the more special.  Sadly Jerry passed away a few years ago, but To View More >>

Apparently some people think free album design and colour correction is a temporary promotion. No, it’s here for good! Here for good as in permanent. Here for good as in good for you! Our recent 50% discount offer on sample albums was hugely successful. But if you bought a new sample why wait until next year to get a return on your investment? Here's how to bring in some cash and set yourself up for a good 2014. Send a simple message to last year's customers, the ones who haven't bought an album yet... Hi, I've just received a gorgeous new album from Queensberry, and I'd love you to see it. I think your photographs would look wonderful in an album like this, and I can offer you a special introductory price if you order now. In fact you could have your album for Christmas. Just a few weeks ago, I received something that was a long time coming. My very own Queensberry Album! Now you can imagine why it took me just over a year to actually get it designed and ordered  - I'm a Queensberry designer - which is another way of saying that I'm a perfectionist. And when it came to my own album... it had to be doubly perfect! During the design process, I naively tried to involve Kurt with the decisions about which images to use and what size album to go for. This resulted in a few 'I don't know, just do what you want' type grunts, that weren't particularly helpful. However, To View More >>

In case you missed it, you can now submit your albums (via Photojunction's Album Setup window) for featuring on our blog. We've had such a great response we're going to see if we can take it a step further… As well as featuring an album a week on the Queensberry Blog we're going to try for one per day on our I Own a Queensberry Facebook page (the first one has just gone up). Remember, before submitting your album design (, make sure you've got the right to use the images. And since we can’t cope with gazillions of submissions, please only click Yes when the album's REALLY hot. We’ll love To View More >>

Last Friday was my last day working for Queensberry. Thanks to the holiday weekend, today is technically my first day as a stay-at-home mom. Excuse me if I ramble, but this is a huge change for me. It has been a whirlwind of an adventure working with the Queensberry family. And it really is just that. Family. In late 2007, I left Apple to start working in a photography studio. Designing wedding albums was a job?! Crazy. I was quickly introduced to Photojunction. By mid-2008 I had annoyed the PJ team enough that they rewarded me with a free Photojunction license for as long as the application existed. To View More >>
