A few clients have told us that they prefer to export their own printing files (page layouts) in Photojunction, but the "Export" button seems to have disappeared. So what have we done with it? Whether the Export button appears or not is dependent on whether you or we (Queensberry) are to do the exporting, and that depends on the option you choose in the Service dropdown menu during album set up. So despite your best efforts checking your files, Queensberry discovers a funky image or layout in your album, and we need a replacement. It happens. Here's what to do if we need a new layout (rather than an image). 1. Your album will be locked, so first you need to duplicate it. 2. Now you can open the unlocked duplicate, fix that funky layout and create a new export for the fixed layout. 3. We've all had that crushing feeling when clients want to change the PERFECT album. Your original design destroyed. Heartbreak. Easy way around this is to duplicate the album before making changes. That way you don't lose your masterpiece, and it's still there if the clients change their mind after seeing what they've done! As we announced back in February, we're in the process of streamlining the way Photojunction handles third-party vendors. As part of that process, we will tomorrow be removing the Cover Material, Cover Style, and Titles resources, as well as the largely unused “Send Order” functionality for all suppliers other than Queensberry. Things have a habit of creeping up on you, as our friends at Seldex have reminded us by sending an email to their clients reminding them that come July they won't be able to use Photojunction's cover design and Send Order functions. All software evolves as new features are added and new versions released. Photojunction and Photoshop are no exception, and, as PJ takes advantage of more, often newer, features of Photoshop, its "backwards compatibility" with older versions is lessened. That's why we recommend that you use Photoshop CS3 or later with Photojunction. If you use CS2 or even earlier, chances are that it will work fine, but you may occasionally find that some PSD files don't import correctly as images or templates, or that you get error messages when exporting with PS scripting. The purpose of our recent survey was to get a better picture of how you're using the software, and the features most important to you. It turns out you use Photojunction to design albums for almost a hundred album suppliers that we don't even offer resources for - no wonder a third of you "always" use Remix DIY!
