As we reach our last workday before closing for the holidays we want to send you very sincere thanks for your support over the last year. While the pandemic itself is largely behind us — at least in the sense that people are generally back to “business as usual” — for much of the world the social and economic “hangover” is still with us. Some in our own industry are among those still feeling the after-effects, and our thoughts will be with them this Christmas. But overall our community continues to inspire us with its resilience in adapting successfully to a To View More >>

This week's Album of the Week is a 10x10 Classic Flushmount with Silver-Halide printing. The cover features Champagne Faux Leather and Bank Gothic Blind Embossing. The beautiful wedding photography belongs to Simon Biffen, who got married at the very same venue himself seven years ago. Based in Bath, UK, Simon captures free-flowing and fun photographs of weddings. Couples are often opting for more casual celebrations, involving games and pets in their photographs. "The wedding was held at the fabulous, Maunsel House, in June and the couple went for a super relaxed day." "They opted for a To View More >>

Written by: Kate Hopewell-Smith Come summertime you can’t open a newspaper or magazine without articles about getting your body ‘beach ready’. Many women are secretly terrified at the prospect of getting into swimwear publicly, because whilst very few people actually suffer from body dysmorphia (the belief that one's appearance is unusually defective) most women have body issues. The truth is that I deal with this reality on a regular basis because I shoot a lot of boudoir photography. Last week I put a few pictures on Facebook from a shoot that both I, and the lady To View More >>

A beautiful memento of four very loved huskies! Laurel and Kevin from Brisbane, Australia are totally devoted to their dogs and regularly participate in sledding. Just a couple of weeks after this photo session in the Glass House Mountains, their beloved brown eyed girl Kiah passed away. Charlotte, from Charlotte Reeves Photography, specialises in pet photography. She says, "I am so glad they have this beautiful album of their special girl and the bond she had with her doggy brother and sisters.” A lovely translucent page at the beginning of their 12x12 Flushmount album. As told to Cate Scaglione - Life As Fine Art “Fear is the lengthened shadow of ignorance.” ~Arnold Glasow As artists we are a different breed within the human race. Our right brains guide us with a heightened sensibility, to help us translate the world in an emotionally meaningful way. We’ll witness the same events and circumstances entirely differently than others, and often with more intensity. These are our blessings, except perhaps when the worst demon surfaces. Fear. All humans experience fear in one form or another. But is all fear bad? Is there such a thing as beneficial, To View More >>

With splashes of pastel blue and a seriously gorgeous location, Ashley and Daniel’s California wedding is definitely one to swoon over. Ashley wanted "... the whole day to have a light, carefree atmosphere despite the seriousness of the occasion. Our color schemes, food and drink selections, and seating arrangements around the dance floor all helped achieved this." Their day was captured by Sylvie (from Sylvie Gil Photography) who is based in California, USA. A Futura translucent title page. Ashley is glowing in her Anna Maier dress! The wedding was held at Annadel Estate To View More >>

What a beautiful day full of laughter, tears and a lot of love! Claire and Milos - both dancers for the West Australian Ballet got married at Moore & Moore, A unique art gallery in Fremantle, Western Australia. Jimmy, their photographer from IZO Photography is based in Perth, Australia. Claire wore a dress specially made by a close friend of hers, coupled with a beaded bolero and chilli red shoes – simply stunning. I love First Looks. You get to see your other half before everyone else, and you have the time to take it all in before heading off for the ceremony. It’s a great To View More >>

We love hearing about the different ways people sell their images and we love that we get to add value to their brand. Below is a series of matted prints photographed by Rachel Russell, based in Marlborough NZ. Rachel sells her prints at the Mistletoe Market in Blenheim, South Island, NZ. We think that's pretty cool and pretty entrepreneurial! When you order individual matted Q-prints they come complete with a Q embossed cover sheet. This not only protects the mat and print, but increases the perceived value. The cover sheet with our Q emboss authenticates that the image To View More >>

This is a long post, so I’m starting with the short story! Some people are upset about the terms of trade for our new web-based lab service, Queensberry Print. We want to clarify that, yes, Queensberry Print products are available to both professional photographers and end-consumers. Certainly, “consumer” means “everyone”, but in reality we believe these products will only be of real interest to professionals, serious amateur photographers, and people who received digital files from a professional and who really care how their photos are printed. Audrey and Xue (Lee) headed home to Taiwan to get married, but approached UK husband and wife photography team Carol and Nicholas Frost (Nicholas Frost Photography) to create something special in and around their current home in Aberdeen, Scotland, on their return. They chose to shoot at various locations around North East Scotland including Castle Fraser, Fyvie Castle, Balmedie Beach and Soul Casino – the idea to really capture the couple’s personalities. Nicholas says that the couple fell in love with their 10×7 Queensberry art album studio samples and commissioned the same for themselves. To View More >>
