Happy New Year! As I always say, this is a great time of year to reflect. We achieved a lot to be proud of in 2010. As well as our regular software releases, and a user base that grew by another 25% over the year, some of the highlights included: - Queensberry press book integration – our new classroom movie series – and of course our popular weekly webinars... We're not quite so proud of these out-takes from a filming session Nigel and I did for our website home page. But Ian found them pretty funny and made them into a short video. Maybe you'll have a laugh at/with me too. You can click on To View More >>

We trust that you've found time to pry yourselves away from the computer and that you won't actually see this. But if you do, everyone at Photojunction and Queensberry wishes you all the best for the holiday season and we look forward to catching up again in the New Year. Cheers, Danny and everyone at Team PJ To View More >>

Well, today is our last day, and it's time to express once again our thanks for your support in 2010. We're hugely grateful, not just for the business you send us, but for the friendship and generosity that makes our job such a pleasure. Yesterday was the Summer solstice for us – the longest day, with the promise of long sunny days to come – but for many of you it was the shortest, and in many cases the weather has been pretty bad. Whatever the weather's like outside we hope it's warm and welcoming at your place. Our holiday wish for you is that – like Adrienne's dogs – you take into 2011 To View More >>

These articles are about strategies to combat the recession. I ended my last post by posing the question on everyone's lips: what happens if my bookings drop? You'll need to have read my previous post to make sense of what follows, but to recap, based on the numbers in the graphic below, if I get 30 wedding bookings and average $5000 per job my income is $71k. If I could get 40 bookings I'd make $114k, even if my average dropped to $4600. All good, but what happens if I can only get 20 bookings? The answer is my income drops to $28k! I could still achieve my $100k income goal with just 20 weddings To View More >>

Follow the links for "the story so far" in our series on the recession... Yes, times will be tough for a while but you shouldn't assume the sky is falling. It makes no sense to sacrifice your business and market reputation to survive the short term challenge. Instead you may need to pull your horns in and find ways to prosper while others decline. A good place to start is by analysing your budget and business model, and we have a spreadsheet to help with that. Most people react to the threat of declining sales by saying, "I've gotta cut my costs". Everyone needs to work out their own figures, but To View More >>

On a quiet day we get over 50,000 spam emails! One of us alone used to have 3-4000 to deal with. Lucky them. Of course we screen spam in the normal way. In the past we even used to check to see if anything legitimate had been filtered out. It happens occasionally with all filtering systems. But the sheer flood of spam has made this impossible, and forced us to tighten our procedures. If you suspect that your email is not getting through please phone (don't email!) and let us know. We will put your email address on a "white list" to ensure we receive it in future. Best wishes from the Queensberry To View More >>

Bride and groom Suganiya and Brahan married in full traditional Sri Lankan Hindu wedding style in early September this year. Haran of Haran Photography traveled from his base in Wellington, New Zealand, to Melbourne to photograph the event. He says it was the longest wedding he's ever photographed (two days), but it was also his most favoured. A day full of colours, meaningful religious rituals, and decorative features made for some stunning images, and a beautiful album... Click here to view more images from Suganiya and Brahan's wedding on Haran's blog. Cheers, Nigel To View More >>
