This is the first of a series of articles about enhancing data privacy and controls in Workspace, especially in relation to GDPR. Our online galleries in Workspace may ask your clients to register for three reasons: when you've opted to require visitors to log in or register before they can view a gallery; when they select their favourite images in a gallery; or when they make a purchase in the shopping cart. Why the data is collected: Visitor names and emails may be required to fulfil shopping cart transactions, so you can use their favourites in possible future To View More >>

How many Images should I include in my album? We get this question on a day-to-day basis and it’s always tricky to answer. How big is the album? What’s your style? Do you like big images or lots of white space? Do you have a story to tell? But we understand that photographers do need to guide their clients. Submitting 300 images for an 8x8 album just won’t work. Sometimes you’ll have thousands of shots from an event and your first challenge will be selecting the hundred or so to go in the album! So here’s the guide our designers use when creating album layouts. Just To View More >>

At Izo Photography, outsourcing frees up time to do the things they love. Photography is a form of self expression, and that's why Jimmy from Izo Photography fell in love with it. After picking up his partner Shona's old DSLR camera, and discovering it was for him, he began to pursue a career in professional photography, which he absolutely loves.   After "practice, practice and more practice", Jimmy's advice to photographers is to outsource work from as early on as possible. When Izo first started out they did everything themselves, but they soon To View More >>

Written by: Clare Breheny When someone asks me what I do for a living and I tell them I’m a boudoir photographer, the usual response is, ‘Oh, women getting pictures for their husbands,’ or ‘Oh, like a bride giving it as a gift on a wedding day’. Every time I shake my head, and explain that’s it’s WAY more than that… but how do you say modestly that the time you spend with them might actually change how they live their lives? Whilst working with a bride embarking on her wedding day is very rewarding, some of my favourite clients have come to To View More >>

Here's a handy tip if you're using our free design service. Please hit the SEND button, or we won't get your feedback. (SAVE adds them to the database but doesn't pass them to us.) You'll find the button at the bottom right of the screen, as in the graphic. We normally have design edits done within 24 hours, so if you don't hear from us promptly, take a look in Workspace to double check that you sent the comments. By the way the same applies to feedback from your clients. If you haven't heard from them, ask them to check that they've hit the Send Feedback button, To View More >>

"Value your time, skill, training and art" - Today we're talking to Lauren & Delwyn about the photography industry, designing albums and building your brand.  • Tell us a bit about yourselves and how you got into photography Delwyn and I are both trained Graphic Designers, Delwyn at Unitec, and myself at Waikato University. We met through a mutual workplace in 2008, and started second shooting weddings for each other. • How do you promote your business and build your brand? We work hard to create a strong 'word of mouth' brand. We also take advantage of the internet as much as we can To View More >>

Simon Whitten of SMW Photography has an interesting perspective on timelessness. He says the albums he's designing today should have looked current ten or twenty years ago, not just years into the future. That's the real test of timelessness, he says. That philosophy underlies his approach to album design - simple and uncluttered. We've featured Simon's work on Queensberry Connects before, but we grabbed this album for the beautifully simple design and the thought behind it ... He created a 14x10 Duo album for clients Charlotte and James and also made a stunning 18x10 Silk display sample for the To View More >>

You know something's been done right when its simplicity takes you by surprise ... either that or something's wrong! If I told you something that previously needed its own piece of software can now be done with the click of a button, would you believe me? It's true. Over the past couple of months the guys at Photojunction have been developing a feature especially for Queensberry clients. They've integrated the FTP process into Photojunction and released it in the latest release of Photojunction, beta 1.26b. Ordering and sending your album is now one smooth, easy process. You won't need LabFTP any To View More >>
