New Zealand photographer Bianca Duimel set up this sample portrait album to feature some of her best work... She took these photos of expecting parents Tony and Sharon just one week before their little baby boy was born. Bianca say this golden haired angel took her breath away. Three-year-old Holly obviously isn't scared of bees! And Pippa was let loose to run around outside in the sun while Bianca got these shots. Three weeks after first meeting, Hollie and Richard had chosen the ring. Nineteen months later, on 13 February 2010, they married. Binky Nixon photographed their UK wedding at St Mary the Virigin Stotfold church followed by a reception at Wrest Park, Silsoe. A traditional but personal affair. There was quite a reaction to my post about shooting less photos, which obviously resonated with people. Check it out - there are some interesting comments from people, including from those who say they shoot a lot. I know there are some amazing photographers out there who shoot big numbers, so quantity is not necessarily at the expense of quality. However I still think it comes at a price, for both the studio and the client. I've never forgotten the first time a client asked me to design a sample album online. For Jo and Simon of Shoot Lifestyle Photography, several Annabel Williams' photographic training books provided the eye opener they needed to see the wedding industry wasn't quite as 'naff' as they thought... Seven years on, they've just been awarded the Annabel Williams CPT Award, for the Queensberry sponsored Wedding Album Category. This week's featured album comes from one of our neighbours across the ditch - Leah Kua in Australia. Rebecca and Steve married in early August last year and Leah took them out the day after their wedding to specifically concentrate on portraits of the two of them and showcase Rebecca's dress. Ashley Loh and Chad Mumm were married at Sodo Park in Seattle on August 20th this year. They were photographed by Laurel McConnell. Ashley's style was romantic, she had her grandmother’s broach re-purposed into a handmade birdcage veil and also wore a really stylish silk belt. And Chad was very James Bond in his tux! We've just spent a great Monday afternoon browsing through the submissions for our Bragging Rights campaign, which closed last Friday. Thank you to everyone who participated! We had a terrific response from friends old and new. Plenty of weddings of course, but also engagement shoots, family portraits, maternity, pets, you name it. Different countries, cultures, locations and styles. So that was inspiring, but now comes the hard part – choosing!
