A long post but full of insights! Andy Fountain explains how he and Lewis developed their unique style of wedding photography, how almost every coverage includes an album, and the pay-off for both their clients and the studio. There are two photographers at Fountain Photography. How do you and Lewis work together to capture the big day? Lewis is now my business partner, rather than simply an employee and second shooter. Mid-photography degree, we brought Lewis in to the business with the idea of eventually shooting two weddings a day, and making twice the profit. But while To View More >>

We got a call from the Bindery team, who were blown away by Erin from Acorn Photography's new sample album. After seeing it ourselves we knew we had to ask Erin if we could share it... "Chelsea and Kirk tied the knot with a beach wedding in Thailand,"   says Erin. "The day was filled with partying under palm trees, and dining on the beach. And at the end of the night everyone, still dressed in their finery, spontaneously jumped into the pool." “The next day we were inspired to try it again and embraced the ‘drown the gown’ movement. Chelsea looked ethereal in her To View More >>

The city of San Francisco was the backdrop for Judy and Andrew’s urban wedding. From the bow-ties to the jazz band, their wedding gave a few nods to the Roaring Twenties. Their wedding and reception was held at City Club of San Francisco in San Francisco, California. Duy Ho Photography was their photographer of the day who is based in San Francisco. The flower arrangements and bouquets by Amy Burke Designs are so sweet and delicate. Click on the image for a closer look. Duy Ho has designed this album with the use of asymmetric layouts and lovely full-bleed images. The rooftop portraits To View More >>

If you specify Full Colour Service printing, we colour correct your images. The old fashioned way, one at a time. We don't run software shortcuts or bulk edit your images. Every single image (or layer) gets personal attention from our specialist colour correctors. It's their job to get your images looking their best and ready for printing and album assembly. Our colour correction policy is to achieve consistency across the images in your album and to optimise natural skin-tones ... and if we spot any problems, to let you know. Once we're done your images go straight to the lab for printing. No To View More >>

A series about storytelling in album design. We turn the page in a wedding album… It's night time and we're at the reception. We turn another page… We're back outside the church in bright daylight! How confusing is that? Not only is the mood of the imagery completely different, the natural flow of the story is disrupted and any feeling of the 'journey' is lost. Chronology creates flow It may sound too basic to mention, but sticking to the order of the day helps make your images into a story. It also speeds up album design by predetermining the order you lay them out on the pages. Here's something To View More >>

It's not until you see the images of your wedding that you realise how incredibly important they are. That's how I felt when I looked at my wedding photos for the first time. I cried! - they were just so much more than what I'd expected, and each one holds a moment of absolute goodness. I'd say it's the same with an album - it's not until you see a book so carefully crafted to document your day that you realise how important this object is that holds these memories. That's what I have in mind when I'm laying out the images for a Musée. Every shot is incredibly special and chosen because the story To View More >>

Simon and Sophie were married in Taormina, Sicily after choosing a destination wedding for them and their friends and family. They were photographed by Phil Drinkwater from Manchester. Their wedding day preparation began in their traditional Sicilian Villa and the ceremony took place at the end of the main street in an old building via an interpreter. A key moment was walking through the street towards the bar for canapés with the Sicilians passing by wishing them congratulations - a truly unique experience. They spent the rest of the day chatting with friends while taking in the stunning views To View More >>
