Determined to not let the rain spoil their day, Louise and Phil made the most of their personal wedding ceremony and travel themed reception at Packington Moor Farm, Staffordshire, UK. Their photographer Claire Evans says, "Louise came prepared to brave the weather with a pretty pair of red and white spotted wellies, her bridesmaid had purple ones, and even Phil had his brand new pair to wear if needed!" Luckily a break in the weather later in the day, allowed them to venture out into the surrounding countryside for some bridal photos... and make good use of those wellies! I'm looking at a truly beautiful print (sorry I can only show you a 233K JPEG). Where does it's beauty come from? It starts with a beautiful flower. I don't know who bred it or nurtured it, but I wish I did. It's a beautiful composition. I do know that the stylist was Katie Lockhart, the photographer Sjoerd. It's a beautiful file, worked to perfection at Alt group as part of our re-brand last year. And it's beautifully printed. Here's the thing. The beauty in the print is totally dependent on everything that went before. Break the chain and you're left with ordinary. Normally in our business we're To View More >>

Have you ever asked yourself questions like these: I know how much I want to earn, but how much do I need to charge my clients to make it? How much is enough? What happens if my bookings go down, or I move to cheaper albums... or shoot-and-burn? Then check this out... We've just uploaded a recording of our latest album-based marketing webinar in which Ian uses his Minimum Average Sale Calculator to help you answer those questions - and more important, show the impact on your income if you change what you're doing - or your bookings go up or down. What made this wedding extra special for US photographer Andy Donnan was that it was the wedding of his grandmother - aged 83. Ruth and Jerry wanted to keep things simple and low-key, and other than the Pastor, Andy and his girlfriend were the only guests present. Andy says, "My grandmother raised me since I was a baby. Effectively, she is whom I call mum and grandma. I love her and am forever thankful. "It was so great to spend a couple of hours photographing for her and Jerry (and for the rest of our families). July is the busiest time of the year for me, so to have the free-time to witness and To View More >>

I was listening to a lovely song by Amy Seeley and was imagining images in my head. The song is haunting and has a feeling of being connected to a story. When I think about stories I usually think in a visual way. Creating a relationship between sound and imagery that isn't literal is a powerful thing. That is the difference between an album of images from a wedding, and the emotional and visual journey that is an album as a story, a collection of memories, a journey, a love, and a destination. One is a set of pictures, and the other is a visual and emotional soundscape - a song in my head. What To View More >>

Every Saturday we wake up to a new wedding ... well I wish it was every Saturday. Every time I know that I must do my best. That is what my clients expect and what I would expect also. How do you make each day your best? I started writing this thinking that there was an answer. There is, but it is personal to each photographer. Having great assistants makes the best more achievable. Do your homework, have a safety net, have the skills to stay out of danger, underpromise and always overdeliver. Be stimulated by your work and by your clients. Have fun. There was a time when I would have told people To View More >>

A quick post because that's all it needs... If you're not selling your templates in the Photojunction store, you're leaving money on the table. And easy money at that. Since we launched the store last year, we've been paying out monthly to plenty of users who are skimming an extra level of income off work they've already done. Photojunction makes it 'one-click' easy to start selling your wares in the store, so what's stopping you? Here's a post about how it works and a series of store tips. Go wipe that table clean. With a remake on the way the Ghostbusters are diligently waiting to make more profits. There are many types of photographers out there ... some have a procedure and others fly by the seat of their pants. Neither of them admits to it. Who you gonna call? For a prospective bride the outlook isn't good. Does she choose "Same old…" or "There are good days and there are bad days…"? Whoa! the bride wants results and wants them to be unique! This is where the trust comes into it ... Trust means so many things but in the end it is about getting results. Cheers, Johannes To View More >>

Hello dears, if you're like me you find the modern inter-web and computer thingamys a little overwhelming. in fact I had a conniption the first time my nephew plugged my Macintosh SE into a network and I've never been really comfortable since. But I like what it lets me do, so I struggle along. I did peek in my iTunes music folder once (looking for my old Tom Jones and Seekers' records) but I thought, "Good grief, that looks complicated," and I've never looked again. I suspect that's exactly what Apple want. They don't even mention their "back end" (nasty expression) because you can really get To View More >>
