We apologise if you've had problems following the release of v1.45. No ifs or buts. If you've been trying to make Queensberry's deadline, rest assured this problem won't stop you getting your album(s). Everyone in our support and the dev teams is focused on fixing the problems right now. Queensberry's had the usual pre-cut-off flood of orders over the last few days, including after the new release, and no more than the usual number of support calls (busier than usual of course, but normal for this time of year). In other words the new release does seem to be working for most of you – which is To View More >>

Last Friday NZT Stephen, Danny and Ian ran an impromptu webinar to introduce the Queensberry Press and demonstrate how to design the books. This excerpt concentrates on the "how-to". Much of the new functionality is behind the scenes (eg built-in colour management to convert the exported layouts to the printer colour space) but Danny concentrates on the process, especially how to specify the books and design the covers. Click here to watch it full screen. Cheers, Ian To View More >>

If you're reading this, you're reading it first, and thank you - we're very grateful. But still, we can't tell you what's in the box! We can tell you what it's not, though. It's not an iPad or the new MacBook Air (and doesn't run Android), it's not a pizza and it's not an album. But we do hope to tell you what it is tomorrow. Within the next twenty-four hours. All going well. As soon as the software’s out, the website’s up and the docs are done we’re holding an impromptu webinar, uncut and unrehearsed. We’ll email you ahead of time. We hope you can keep an hour or so free for us. If you To View More >>

After 40 years we know what people notice that "doesn't look quite right" in an album. Apertures that don't align or that are inconsistently spaced are right up there. For convenience, and because it's a hot topic, we've chopped 15 minutes or so out of last week's Problem Reporter webinar where Danny and Ian talk specifically about alignment and spacing. They don't show you how to use the alignment tools, but rather demonstrate a few really clever tips to correct problems (and avoid them altogether). They're things that'll make your album look that much better. Here it is... Watch it To View More >>

When I talk to Photojunction users and they express frustration with the application, I have to know more. When we hear so many users rave about how much time it has saved them, I am just perplexed when someone feels the exact opposite. For example, I've talked to few of you who are frustrated with the time consuming nature of exporting high res layouts when you simply want to send a client a layout to approve. Or, you had to make tiny changes requested by the client and had to deal with the Problem Reporter all over again. High Res exports of layouts only need to happen once. This step in Photojunction To View More >>

Stephen blogged recently about how, when he's away from home, he loves keeping up with friends and family on Facebook. Loves the photos, the sharing, the little messages - likes wishing his mother a happy birthday ... and seeing the message spread around his network, so the best wishes get multiplied many times. But sharing isn't the same thing as remembering, and Facebook is really about the former, not the latter, and it's interesting to ask why. For a start, what's the likelihood of Facebook being around when our children and grandchildren want to know about us? If history is any guide, not To View More >>

Let's wrap up this Problem reporter series and stop ignoring the elephant in the room… Who needs a problem reporter anyway? After all, as we confirmed at the webinar it drives some people nuts. Well I'm glad you asked! I should start by saying it's not an unusual concept. Try googling "pre-flight", for example, and check out the Wikipedia and Adobe listings in particular. What the pre-flight process does in the printing industry is ensure that digital files sent for printing are all present, valid, correctly formatted, and of the desired type. Why? Because, if they're not, the job can't be done. To View More >>

A quick note to let you know our webinars are taking a break this week, but we'll be back on deck again next week. We're in the process of lining up a couple of interesting new webinars, including a major Queensberry announcement (more soon – can't wait!) and an interview with US photographer Justine Ungaro. You may have come across her online recently pimping her new Musée album. We're also planning a few live Photojunction webinars that we can slice and dice afterwards into a series of quick tutorials. We'll see how many Danny can fit into the hour. ;) Details soon. Take care and see you next To View More >>
