Several weeks ago, engaged couple Janet and Chip hit the streets of New York and the Museum of Natural History with their photographer Parris Whittingham for a pre-wedding engagement session. After seeing their proofs of the shoot, the couple decided to commission two 9×9 matted albums as wedding gifts for their parents. Parris says, "With the support of Queensberry, we were able to custom design and receive these exquisite parent albums in record time…" Our congratulations and best wishes to Janet and Chip as they wed this weekend - 8 May, 2010. Yesterday I came across these beautiful invitations by Atelier Isabey. I wish I could touch them. I wish you could! Imagine our first sensory experience as babies - touch, taste, smell, sound, vision - how gradually they made the world real and meaningful... And how we realised that the world isn't just out there, that we can design it - make it beautiful - the origin of art, craft, home-making, cooking, gardening... based sometimes on our traditions, sometimes on our own creativity. I know some of us are more conscious of these things than others, but at least for the fortunate among us, finely To View More >>

We've just updated Workspace with some beautiful new viewing options for your client website. The slideshow view hasn't changed but we've increased the image size in the standard thumbnail view, and added two options that we know you'll love - Square and Masonry. So you can see the difference I've made three screen shots with the same images (by James Yeats-Brown). At Queensberry we say our ideal clients are mid to high end photographers, and those who aspire to be. Oh, and we love it if you buy albums! So in our recent album pricing survey one of the questions we asked readers was, how many albums do you sell? Over half our respondents said less than ten a year. Ten albums a year doesn't seem a lot, so does that mean the world is ending for albums and the people who sell them? Not at all. Nothing's changed. Albums have always been a way of standing out from the crowd and up-selling. In the old days most photographers sold the negatives or a stack of prints. To View More >>

So you've gone to the trouble of uploading images and setting up price lists for Queensberry Print products, hoping to make some extra income for Christmas. But there's one more thing to do. Your work and images will just disappear into the lonely reaches of the internet unless you make a noise... Remember the internet is NOT like a shopping mall. People can't just walk past and see what you've got in your window. So think of Workspace like a soapbox. You need to stand up on it and draw a crowd. Not that it's hard! First, let your past clients know about the fantastic new products on offer. Give To View More >>

So you're tempted by our special offer, and you've decided to add Q-Frames, Q-Boxes and Q-Books to your Workspace shopping cart. Maybe it's your first time selling online! How much should you charge? Finding the sweet spot between too cheap and too expensive can be tricky. Ask yourself: 1. What costs must the price cover? For example will you need to edit or artwork the images? If so was the work included in the price of the shoot or do you need to charge for it now? 2. What's the market price? How much would people in your market expect to pay for products like these from a photographer like To View More >>

Three months was all Juliane and Chris needed to put together their beautiful DIY wedding. They rented a lovely house for the weekend in Austin, Texas where a small intimate ceremony took place. Their photographer Sarah Jaine Photography describes the day as “Beautiful, unique and truly representative of how I know them to be.” Their album starts with a translucent title page I just love the ceremony shots - Chris and Juliane are glowing. It was a small intimate ceremony with just immediate family and close friends - they even had their friend marry them (he applied for a license). Chris To View More >>
