Welcome

This is the blog for professional photographers, and those who aspire to be. Our aim is to help professional photographers build long-term, sustainable careers.

QBY_Bride Competition isn't the problem, obscurity is. For years now I've watched frustrated at how little most photographic associations do to promote the idea and importance of wedding photography. More often than not these organisations - run by hardworking volunteers who do great things to educate their members and promote standards - can do little to convince couples that they need a professional photographer. But I'm not going to be frustrated by this any more :) We're doing more to promote our customers I said two months ago that I believe in professional photography, and although we obviously aren't in a position to promote the entire industry, we can certainly do our very best to support our own customers ... so we're starting today. Your future bride We believe that most brides start thinking about wedding photography as just another line on their to-do list and their budget ("How much do you charge?"). Maybe there's a spark of desire, maybe their friends have opened their eyes to the possibilities, maybe they've even heard of you! - but I think most of us believe that in general wedding photography ranks lower in the bride's priorities than it used to. And maybe standards are lower too. What can we do to change that? We have spent a lot of effort developing our web traffic, and each month about 20,000 new visitors spend at least seven minutes browsing through our website and product pages. That's a lot of interest. Many are photographers, but most are your potential customers, future brides in particular, and until now all they could do was leave when they'd finished looking around. To take advantage of that traffic, we're launching Queensberry Bride. Queensberry Bride is a new landing page that introduces our books and albums, and promotes professional photography to the bride to be. It offers advice on choosing a photographer, and links to our photographer directory. It encourages the bride to sign up to our mailing list so that over a few months we can open her eyes to wedding photography, how important it is, and how crucial it is to choose the right professional. She's also offered the chance to win an album every month. Just as important, the emails will showcase what you offer - beautiful photography. Each one will feature our clients' work (more on that later). Please check it out I hope you'll check out Queensberry Bride and tell us what you think. Feel free to sign up for the emails too (if so we recommend you register as a "bride-to-be"). You might even win the free album. ;) As always, please understand Queensberry Bride is v1.0. We've put it out there so we can make it better! We'll be promoting the page with significant online advertising, and refining it based on how we see visitors responding, and your feedback. Before I go, just a reminder that our big mid-winter special ends in fourteen days. You don't want to miss this. Later this week I'll be introducing more new initiatives we're working on. We'll also be launching our 2013 Bragging Rights promotion very soon. If you'd like to see your images featured in Queensberry Bride, on our websites and in our sample albums etc - keep your eyes peeled! Thank you for reading this long post, which was also sent as an email to our mailing list. Warm regards, Stephen

Dear Stephen, Dear all I agree 100% with all that you wrote , and I especially the fact that we all have to give dreams through photography to our clients and stop fighting on prices. I have not understood how to get in the directory. Have I missed something ? Cheers Bruno
