In many markets Covid is likely to limit the size of weddings — and therefore wedding photography — for some months yet. And with all the restrictions and uncertainty many weddings are likely to be postponed until next season. But there's an upside! Any 2020 weddings delayed until 2021 and 2022 could make those years busier than normal! Which will be a great "problem" to have, as long as you can cope with the extra work. What that means… • This year albums will be very important as a way to maximise revenue and profit from wedding clients — both current To View More >>

Saying Yes to opportunities As a photographer, Rachael Waring likes to collaborate with people who aren’t scared to be themselves. A big part of her work is staying present and supporting those around her with love. By savouring the day-to-day and saying "yes" to opportunity she has met and photographed Warren Buffett, Serena Williams, Amy Adams, Deepak Chopra, Diane von Furstenberg, David Beckham, Will I Am, Gordon Ramsay and Tom Hanks to name a few. Lorraine contacted Nick saying that she wanted a photoshoot of her sister Janine, and to give her an album for Christmas. Nick talks about the shoot, and how he approaches photographing dogs and horses. One of Janine's horses, Kenya, had been with the family for a number of years, and Lorraine thought it would be nice to capture them together, whilst Kenya was still a fit and active horse. Of course, the other family animals, Brody the highland pony, and Jack and Louie, their two dogs, would also star in the shoot. The main difference between photographing To View More >>

“This project simply reminds us of how fragile we are. Many cultures portray men as strong – physically and emotionally.” When Ilan from Ilan Wittenberg Photography set out to create his exhibition piece, “The Bare Truth”, he hoped he would break down this stigma and expose and reveal the real man through a series of raw black and white images. “One of the goals of this project is to give men freedom to express their feelings and connect to their emotions. This fresh look at men is an eye opening opportunity to see the real people without the 'shield' of To View More >>

The design space is buzzing as we get ready to announce our first 2016 Workspace updates. After months of debate, covering the walls with design ideas, and then the hard work of turning them into code, and testing, we finally get to share! Here’s the big picture: An updated retail shopping cart for you. Redesigned image gallery. New and improved website themes. New and improved blogging themes. New client website designs. And finally a new page editor so you can modify the themes without HTML coding. That’s way too much for a single blog post so we’re going to dig into To View More >>

So you've gone to the trouble of uploading images and setting up price lists for Queensberry Print products, hoping to make some extra income for Christmas. But there's one more thing to do. Your work and images will just disappear into the lonely reaches of the internet unless you make a noise... Remember the internet is NOT like a shopping mall. People can't just walk past and see what you've got in your window. So think of Workspace like a soapbox. You need to stand up on it and draw a crowd. Not that it's hard! First, let your past clients know about the fantastic new products on offer. Give To View More >>

I have a friend going back to work full time after working part time for six years to raise his kids. Some weeks ago he phoned me, incredibly disheartened after many job applications and many knock backs. No one wanted him. I encouraged him to stop treating each job interview as make or break, and to start playing. To apply for jobs he thought he couldn't get. At salary ranges he thought he couldn't justify. To mix it up, try something different each time and see what worked. The trick, I said, was to remember that his next interviewer would know nothing about his past interviews, and it wouldn't To View More >>

Want to make the Workspace Image Gallery even more powerful for Events with lots of images (eg weddings)? If that's a Yes, check out an optional feature called image categories, which you can switch on in Basic Settings. Here's how they work. The normal way to organise images in your events is using collections. Collections work a bit like iTunes playlists, in that images can be in more than one collection (eg album selection and favourites as well as Nan's). On the other hand images can only be in one Category (eg Ceremony or Family Groups, but not both). You use Categories to divide your images To View More >>
