Let us print the page layouts for your albums from your digital image files. You’ll get the same high quality and personal attention from our lab as you already expect from Queensberry. If you choose our Full Colour service, colour correcting your image files becomes our responsibility and your colour management hassles will be minimised. For true one-stop service, we offer digital art services as well. This page introduces our album printing service. If you're a first time printing client, please click here. Could you use more free time?If you send us your image files with your album orders we can handle everything for you - colour correct, print, assemble the album and ship it ready for your client In the days of optical, things were simple. You shot images, we printed them. Digital photography can be just as straightforward provided you make the appropriate choices. But whether you want to “shoot pictures and sell them” and leave the rest to the lab, or continue doing your own colour correction, artwork etc, we can help. Option 1. Full Colour Service (recommended)Full Colour Service means that you can give us responsibility for colour correction and even artwork, just as in the days of optical. Full Colour Service offers an easy transition to digital, eliminates most studio work, guarantees quality and leaves you free to concentrate on taking photographs and selling them. Option 2. Print-Ready Service (for experts only)For experts only, Print-Ready Service demands a thorough understanding of colour management principles, expertise in Photoshop (for colour correction and retouching) and an understanding of soft proofing. Your capital investment in hardware, software and training will be higher, but doing the work yourself means your lab costs will be lower. Flow-on benefits
One of the advantages of having us print your album pages (matted or digital) is that we can assemble the album for you as well. If you wish we can also... Photojunction, Photoshop and LabFTP
We recommend Photojunction partnered with Photoshop to design albums and export your print files. Please always use the latest version of Photojunction! You'll need Photoshop 7 (or preferably later; earlier releases don't include scripting). To send your print files,we recommend our FTP upload service, LabFTP (latest version again, please). If you're not using LabFTP you can send your work by DVD or CD, in which case you'll also need our Album Printing Order Form. You can find this as a PDF on the Queensberry Products and Services Guide CD or download it from this website. Three printing options You can send us the relevant original high-resolution files and Photojunction files and we create the high-res page layouts for printing for you. (There are a number of reasons why you might choose this option. For example, you might not have Photoshop, or you might want us to design the album. This option requires Full Colour Service.) Or...
You can send us layered Photoshop (PSD) Page Layouts that you created yourself (for Full Colour Service only). Or...
You can send us flattened TIFF or JPEG Page Layouts that you created yourself (for Print-Ready Service only – extra file handling charges will apply if you send us layered PSD files).
How we priceWe price all print services per album page (two sides) regardless of the number of images on the page. Prices depend on whether you use Print-ready or Full Colour service, as described above, but we always charge Full Colour Service prices if we are required to crop, size or otherwise modify images before printing. Pricing is the same for un-matted digital composite albums (“magazine albums”) and traditional matted albums. Surface protectionWe’ll coat your album prints to protect them from spills and marking on request. There’s no extra charge for protective coating on Queensberry printing to be bound in Queensberry albums but you must request it. Printing-related extra charges (check your price list for details)Flattening layered files sent for Print-Ready service incurs a charge. Creating Page Layouts from Photojunction Client Files (available with Full Colour Service only) incurs a charge. All other file handling necessary to match your files to our specifications is charged at an hourly rate. In addition, printing from Print-Ready files that require such manipulation will be charged at the Full Colour Service rate. Photoshop artwork (retouching) is charged at an hourly rate. This charge also applies if we we need to create or modify cover designs for cover motifs or photo front covers. Liquid protective coating on album prints not done by Queensberry incurs a charge (the smallest print size we can coat is 6x4in (15x10cm). Test prints incur an extra charge (but we offer FREE test prints of your first two Album Printing orders). |
