As you may have read already, when you order printing from us on a Full Colour Service basis, we colour correct your images. This page describes what we do.

Colour correction defined

Normal (standard) colour correction entails adjusting RGB colour values, density and contrast across the ENTIRE IMAGE. This is what you can expect when you order Full Colour Service prints or album layouts from us. Standard colour-correcting charges are INCLUDED in our Full Colour Service prices.

CUSTOM colour correction allows us to spend extended time in Photoshop colour-correcting specific areas of the image for the best possible result. This is closely related to other forms of image editing (enhancement, cropping, resizing etc) and like them is charged on a time basis.

As a specialised portrait and wedding lab, we colour-correct so as to optimise skin-tones and achieve consistency across all the images in the album.

This is particularly important because images in albums are displayed side-by-side in page openings and so inconsistencies are very obvious. (That, incidentally, is one reason we prefer to print from page layouts rather than from individual images.)
