An un-calibrated projector can be harmful to your financial health. That’s because, if you own one, your clients will view their pictures on it. They need to look their best!
As long as projected images look good enough to buy, that’s probably good enough Calibrating your projector to the standard of your monitors is almost certainly unnecessary. That’s because your projector plays no part in proofing or correcting colour. As long as the pictures look good enough to buy, that’s probably good enough. That means calibrating procedures that depend on your visual judgment are probably good enough too (rather than the device in our illustration). For example: - On the Mac, ColorSync allows you to independently profile more than one monitor, including a projector. This will have no impact on your mission-critical monitor profile, which you should be very careful to maintain!
- Windows does not let you independently profile monitors, but we understand you can calibrate a projector using PowerPoint.
 - You can also use our Monitor Test Image to calibrate your projector on Mac or Windows, using the projector's built in controls. You’ll need a brand with the appropriate controls built in (contrast and brightness, colour temperature and RGB adjustment).
