Inspiring albums

Photography: Emily Hancock

Visit our blog for some recent albums that we loved. There were lots more to chose from, but for your inspiration we have…

A wedding at the famed Claridges of London, another in California’s wine country, a fabulous wedding party in Mauritius, gorgeous equestrian photography, a beauty from New Zealand, a display album suitable for an English castle – and a Claridges baby album to wrap up! Who said albums are just about weddings?

These albums are not just eye candy either – don’t miss the marketing lessons.

Thank you to Matt Blum, Jo Grams, Emily Hancock, Nikki Hill, Geoff White and Simon Whitten for participating.

Something to think about

Photographers do a huge amount more now than they used to in the old days - and it's questionable whether they get paid for it.

It's a few years since naturalism and photojournalism were the buzzwords du jour.

My Kenwood, my toaster and my iPhone – will your albums outlast you?

“Yay for Remix!”

We reckon it's time to upgrade to PJ Remix. Our design department loves it. Click here for more...

Here's some feedback from a survey on Remix PJ did in February.

Last but not least, we like the Team PJ blog.

June 2008

It’s been a while since our last newsletter, so it’s no surprise that this edition is bulging with content: critical service information, beautiful albums and plenty to think about…

When we asked our regular clients to complete a survey, we promised a free album to one lucky respondent. We couldn’t believe it when the winner was from our hometown!

“Print-Responsibility”

Qby Album

In many labs these days the only people who look at your prints are the Dispatch team. Strange as it seems, that makes sense – it's your files they’re printing.

But Queensberry can’t afford to put a client's prints into an expensive album, ship it to them and then have a debate about who’s to blame for the printing! This is a key service issue for our Print-Ready clients. Click here for more…

Two-volume discount

Just a quick reminder that if your 12x12 or larger feature album design requires more than 30 pages (60 sides), you will need to order two volumes. We offer a second cover at 40% discount. Click here for more…

What’s going on here?

Qby Album

You’re looking at a Duo album design in PJ Retro (without the images). But the apertures go off the page on the right hand side! You can’t do that in Photojunction, so how could it happen?

Answer: Outdated resources in the client’s studio. It’s a good example of why, with regret, we can no longer accept orders created with old versions of our PJ resources. Click here for more…

PJ Retro: three things you need to know

It's a bit aggravating if we have to ask you for more information or files so we can process your print-and-bind order. How to minimise the chances…

Some people have problems when they export their print files using Photojunction and CS3 due to the fact their filenames have lower-case extensions. Here's the solution.

Some of our clients say they answer all PJ Retro's "Supplier Options" questions and still we come back and ask for the info again. Here's what's happening.
