Album Formats (Sizes)

Your first and most important decision is the “format”, the size and shape of the album.

We have many to choose from, from purse-sized to very large; vertical, horizontal and square. All are listed in Photojunction. Personal taste, practical considerations and what your market is accustomed to should all play a part in your selection.

We've made understanding our formats easy by labelling them with their approximate size in inches. For example, a 12x12 is approximately 12 inches square (300x300mm).

As a rule of thumb, the 12x12 and larger sizes are our best sellers and the most practical as wedding albums. That's because they have room for plenty of images. Without doubt the best way to experiment with the possibilities of each format is to design a few “virtual samples” in Photojunction.

To maintain structural integrity we don't offer albums with more than 30 pages (60 sides) inclusive of Wing and Flip pages, which count as extra pages (2 sides each). If it becomes necessary to create two volumes because you have exceeded the 30-page limit, we offer a 40% discount on a second identical cover.

Larger albums certainly cost more, but this is less of an issue than you’d expect, simply because you can place so many more images on the pages of large-format albums. You may need to consider whether you charge for your work per image or per page (side or leaf).

Our feature albums are supplied with the pages permanently bound into the cover. After manufacture you will not be able to add or remove pages, so the album planning process must be complete when you order.
