The Junction News – July

We’re heading to Australia

Hi everyone

I recently hopped across the ditch to join Seldex at PMA in Sydney. We were run off our feet but had a great time. Thanks for stopping by to say hi if you did!

I’m on my way back to Australia at the end of August, but this time with Ian and Raktim from Queensberry on their 40th anniversary tour. I’ll be doing demos for newbies and showing the latest beta, including work we’ve done specifically for Queensberry. You can check out their new products and hear what they’ve got planned to mark 40 years of Queensberry.

It’s a free event, so please drop in. Click here to let us know you’re coming.

Cheers, Danny

The latest beta is a game changer

The PJ developers have certainly been busy. They posted another beta that builds on the last big release, v1.26. Put them together and we have a transformation – a new interface, managed workflow and built in FTP to deliver complete, accurate, valid orders first time.

After a couple of patch updates – we’re up to 1.29. Click here to download it.

Johannes thinks with this release, PJ has moved from being the teenager to an adult, a robust and effective design tool.

Click here for a short movie Ian, Nigel and Akshay recorded introducing PJ’s new simplified and streamlined workflow, as well as the new interface.

The Photojunction Store

The Photojunction Store is coming. An online market place for you to share the work you’ve done in Photojunction and boost your income in the process.

We’re offering you a way to reach the masses and easily sell your Photojunction templates, Photoshop actions, ebooks – whatever you think other photographers may be interested in.

Several entrepreneurial PJ users have already been doing just that through their websites, and making thousands each year. The potential is huge.

We’re not far off launching, and more details will follow, but we want to start adding content to the store right now. If your interested in getting in first, we’d love to hear from you.

This month’s popular posts: The Junction

Poor, under-appreciated Nanny: It’s not such a good idea to ignore Nana PJ. She’s trying to ensure you get a first class album back without extra costs and with no hassles… Here are some examples of Nana PJ on the job.

Hassle free orders: Danny explains the limitations of page layout tools like InDesign and why PJ has built in presets for both labs and album manufacturers.

A fair question: If you’re after stability, stick with the latest final version (1.25), but to play with the latest features, accept beta updates… and our heartfelt thanks for helping to make the program even better. Just expect the occasional bug.

Everything else…

We wrote about three new features introduced in v1.26b – replicating and rotating templates, sorting images maunally, and a new right-click option. As well as the new FTP functionality in 1.27 for Queensberry Clients.

Johannes accused us of hiding our light so just to show we can blow our own trumpet, Ian boasted about PJ’s slideshow capabilities.

We also posted several videos: One by Paul Edwards from the [b] School, a great clip from Olympus and a funny Fuji Film commercial. Check them out.
