A quick post because that’s all it needs…

If you’re not selling your templates in the Photojunction store, you’re leaving money on the table. And easy money at that.

Since we launched the store last year, we’ve been paying out monthly to plenty of users who are skimming an extra level of income off work they’ve already done.

Photojunction makes it ‘one-click’ easy to start selling your wares in the store, so what’s stopping you?

Here’s a post about how it works and a series of store tips.

Go wipe that table clean.

Cheers, Nigel

Where do I find templates? In the Photojunction Store.

You’ll find the link to it on the Photojunction home screen (bottom right corner in case you missed it).

You can search for templates by size (14×10), orientation (Horizontal) and style (simple), or by the template designer if you know who they are.

Here’s a bit more info about the Photojunction Store. And if you’re interested in selling your own templates, here’s a blog post worth reading.

PS Check out Danny’s 437 tips to boosting your template sales!

Do you know how many people are too busy to design albums? Or are under-confident about album design? Or can’t figure out the PJ alignment tools (surely not)? ;)

And do you know how many people have downloaded Photojunction since we made it free? I didn’t think so.

But that adds up to a big market … and you already have the templates. All you need to do is add them to the Store.

Just do it.

There you go … #437 … just a few gaps to fill in. Got more?

You can change your product listings any time, so feel free to experiment.

Prices too high? Lower them.

Reckon you can charge more? Raise them.

Want to jazz up your blurb? Do it.

Want more templates per collection? Or to include more thumbnails? Or add thumbnail images…?

Well you might need to delete the old product and add a new one.

But it’s quick and easy and worth the effort to get it right.

Cheers, Danny (the pragmatist).

Talk about your products. Tweet, Facebook, blog whatever. We’re doing our bit to promote the store, but it’s your job to get them to come to you.

And don’t just talk about your own templates. Talk about the “Photojunction Store” itself. More in the Store. The more the merrier.

Danny (social media man)

Buy a set of templates. Use them. Take note of what you liked and
didn’t like.

Then make yours better ;-)

Danny (sneaky businessman)

I’m serious. How many businesses don’t check out what’s working for the competition?

The search patterns in the store are showing very, very clear trends. People are looking for…

Album Companies (eg “Queensberry”,”KISS”,”graphistudio” etc)

Album Formats (eg “10×10″,”12×12″,”10×14″ etc)

Orientation (eg “Vertical”, “Horizontal”, “Landscape” etc)

And dare I say it, “Free” is pretty popular.

Our search feature looks through most of text that you enter when you set up the product you’re selling (eg title, description, author, search tags etc).

Have a range of products to buy. Good. Better. Best.

Or do combo deals. Three for the price of two etc. (You’ll need to create a separate “product” as the store won’t let you discount.)

ThumbnailsOne interesting option is how many template thumbnails you should have in the item listing.

There’s two sides to this one, but I think showing too few is a mistake.

There’s a fear that people will copy them if you show too many…

I understand, but people are buying templates to save time so I wouldn’t worry too much.

I’d show at least 25% or so of my templates – enough to get a good idea of what you’re offering.

Next tip.

Danny (how about that – up to Tip #92 already) ;)

Templates with thumbnail images (real images, not just blank apertures) definitely sell more templates and get more attention.

Danny (feeling factual today – no frills)

PS Of course you need permission to use the images. That’s why Team PJ’s own templates are blank. But they’re free, so people don’t mind.
