The Junction

Farewell Ian

Our dear friend, Ian.

Most of you haven’t met him, but there’s a good chance he’s saved your bacon once or twice.

Ian Cameron has been a crucial member of the Photojunction team, and is leaving us to head back down-the-line to his home town.

The trend in the tech industry is to skip jobs every 18 months or so looking for the new best thing, but that hasn’t been the case for us and certainly not for Ian. Ian has been with us for 6 years, I hazard a guess he’s answered over 40,000 emails and 12,000 phone calls! This doesn’t include tireless work on resources, bug busting, and in the ol’ days, CD burning.

Ian, mate – thanks for the years and years of support, and we wish you the absolute best going forward.

Cheers

Danny (on behalf of everyone at Photojunction and Queensberry)

PS If Ian has helped you out once or twice and left an impression please let him know by leaving a comment.

PPS Looking forward to our Final Kebab!

Wow Ian, congratulations. No surprise to me that people feel this way, but these comments say it all. You've certainly been appreciated and you will really be missed. Service is a funny thing, especially IT support. It's often hard to realise that you are appreciated at they time as all you hear is from people with “issues” but clearly form these messages you are. Certainly you are by us.

I also just wrote this on Facebook ….

I enjoyed reminiscing with you yesterday about your job interview a few days after we had brought the lab … Wow that was 6 years ago.

I'm really proud of what we have achieved together over that time and how you have grown as a person. You have been an important person in our success and although things will continue you will certainly be missed.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you

Oh, yeah … Ian ha definitely saved my bacon or as we say in the US, my “@$$” He will be missed. In the last two weeks, as I was getting to know Photojunction (all over again), he came to the rescue very very very patiently explaining what I could be doing wrong or if it was a technical issue/buggy behavior, passing it on the right folks to get back to me. He was great at what he did. I always enjoyed his professional demeanor.

  • berniebg

Ian has been fantastic for solving my many problems especially in the early Photojunction days. Thank you Ian for all your patience .You are truly a tech god. All the best in the future.

I'll echo Sonya's comment – during my time as account manager you were always helpful in solving my PJ issues and my clients issues. If you didn't know the answer you'd find out, or if we found a problem you'd get programmers to solve it. You'll be missed – I'll have to skype with Christine now. Thanks for your hard work, your efforts are appreciated.
