Queensberry Connects

Heading back to where they first met, Stephanie and Adam married in the hilly pastures of rural Berkshires, just west of Massachusetts. Their naturally beautiful day was captured by Danielle Zielinski.

They chose a remote farm as the perfect venue and married on a grassy knoll under a cherry tree; then shared drinks on the lawn, and celebrated at their reception in the barn.

Danielle’s brief was to capture the natural, unstructured beauty of the day – and it was this style that inspired the design of the album, and presentation of the photographs.

A Rimu timber cover set the natural tone of this 12×12 feature album from the get-go. The couple wanted a timeless, classic look inside, and chose matted pagemount pages with black mats and ivory pages – black page edging finishing the look.

Danielle sent us this comment from Stephanie and Adam about their album: “We’re absolutely impressed and delighted by the work that Danielle, and Queensberry, put into the photographs and the album. We’ve received so many compliments about it! We really will treasure the album for many years to come.”

Note: We’ve recently discontinued Timber covers, although if you have a display sample we expect to be able to supply them for some time yet.

Melanie and Neil were married on 07/07/07, possibly one of the luckiest days in a hundred years, so Melissa Worthington couldn’t help but laugh when she saw a lucky penny laid out for the sole of Melanie’s shoe – a Southern tradition.

The couple married in the quaint town of Onancock, where Melanie grew up, on Virginia’s Eastern Shore. Melanie’s history runs deep within the town, and they chose to celebrate family history and small town tradition to make the day unique: the reception was held in a mansion once owned by the doctor who delivered Melanie’s grandmother.

Melissa and Sam were there to capture every moment.

The album is a 12×12 Black Leather Duo with black pages and matching mats. A combination of Wing and Flip pages throughout the album brings out the personality of both the couple and the day.

The opening sequence shows the dramatic possibilities of Wing pages: We see the couple in front of the church doors, which open and invite the viewer in.

We suspect luck had nothing to do with this couple’s special day, or the album that reflects their love and happiness. Mel says, “We’re not trying to document what a wedding looks like so much as what it feels like.” We like that.

Time and time again we see albums pass through our Bindery in which the photographer has reflected the stylistic theme of the wedding in the book itself. Last week we featured an album with an autumnal harvest theme. This album uses our Pagemount page system to very different effect.

What caught our eye in Scott and Priscilla’s case was the stylish simplicity of their red and white theme, and how well Matt and Enna of Grazier Photography had captured and reflected the details in a stunning album.

The red highlights around the prints are created by trimming them to reveal the red page behind the ivory mat. Because the pages were supplied without edging and corners, the same red highlight is carried through to the edge of the pages.

Scott and Priscilla’s red theme appears throughout the album but it’s possible to add a non-standard feature colour on selected pages only.

The 12×12 Photofront album was printed and assembled by Queensberry.
