To date, Simon Mark Whitten has photographed close to 300 weddings over eight years on four continents.

From country houses in England to castles in Scotland and marquees in Wales, Simon has photographed weddings in France, Greece, USA, Hong Kong, China and New Zealand. As one of the UK’s most highly sought after Wedding Day Photographers, he can only accept a strictly limited number of commissions per annum.

Simon’s photography can be defined as elegant and exclusive 'fine art documentary' - that is, discreet and observational rather than directorial, and low key and minimally invasive in approach with a timeless and classically artistic level of presentation.

Formally trained at the Kent Institute of Art and Design, Simon studied to BA Hons degree level in photography, graphic design, art history and fine art and draws on all of these plus his interest in cinematography and gallery art to produce his own unique perspective and style.

Simon believes that presentation is everything and that an album or book is still the best way to present and preserve the story of a wedding day and that album design is an integral and intrinsic part of the entire wedding photography ‘process’. To this end, Simon exclusively uses Queensberry albums and has done so since he set up his specialist wedding photography service in 2000.

He currently lives and runs his specialist wedding photography gallery/studio from the edge of the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors National Park where he lives with his wife Julie and 3 year old daughter Honey.
