Moda Fotografica was born in 2006 to deal with the need for a single brand for two photographers, Johannes van Kan and Jo Grams.

The Moda Fotografica photographers held the title Wedding photographer of the year for three consecutive years, 2004, 2005, and 2006 (2006 was Jo's turn). In 2007 Johannes won the new wedding album category.

Jo Grams started life as an Australian photographer working with the likes of Katrina Christ, Vanessa Hall and Marcus Bell. In 2005 she met and married Johannes van Kan.

Their business in Christchurch New Zealand has moved at a great velocity to make them leaders in wedding photography in New Zealand.

Jo photographs weddings and portraits and has a flourishing business creating beautiful images for young families. Johannes has focused on weddings with a smattering of commercial work revolving around images of people.

The success of their imagery is their emphasis on the photography of the relationships that exist between people.

Digital has added a greater opportunity for control and experimentation.
